looks like epoxy on the base to me...
What pressure do you press at ? What temperature ? are you sure you have an even pressure on all the board ? I would guess you have less pressure in the tip, thus allowing resin to flow under the base. But those are only my thoughts after seeing just a picture...

Its definitely melted the base. It shrank, pulled away from the edges and delaminated. The problem arose when I put the cassette in my press. When I plugged in the heat blanket sparks flew because the wires in the back of the controller loosened. I was in a panic to get the blanket up and running. I got the wires fixed but the thermocouple wasn’t registering. Since the thermo coupler wasn’t working I don’t know how hot it got. They are only rated for 200 degrees F but it had to get hotter than that. Its fricken frusterating. Every board seems to have a new problem but I am working through them.

I way have missed it but is your heat blankets okay? Almost everybody ruins a pair or a board at the beginning, but blankets are $$$. The different wood in the laminated core looks pretty sweet I think.

My first heat blanket had a short in the blanket the first time I used it. Hi heat is currently building me a new one for free. The second one seems to be ok after todays events. I need to rework the wiring because the controller they put on is very flimsy. Thanks for the encouragement! I have 4 mistake boards under my belt. Hopefully, No more.

Looking good - congrats. I don't know my boards, but is that a directional board best suited to the powder?

Thanks for the compliments!

This is a basic all mountain board, full poplar core, symmetrical shape, 161cm. I wanted a "base" board so that now I can test different material and layouts against the base.

wow the pics make it look completely directional and the camber looked off set as well.

Now to focus on more fun stuff right?

Dang Montucky! you got me all freaked out.....Luckily, I brought it home with me so I can sleep with it tonight. I measured it and it is symmetrical and the camber is centered. Wheww!
