I haven't skied on a commercial ski in about 3 years. I used to still take some up as backup, just in case something broke, but no longer. It is such an awesome feeling to break free and trust (and enjoy!) your own hard work!
Yup

I tried a pair of ARG's last year, took them out for a couple days cat skiing, but other than that haven't skied anything but my own "product" for a few years now :D

Nice work Jan! Nice style!

I was showing a guy my POLY-U ski tonight. He asked how they skied and told him I'd never go back to a commercial ski. They're so much more lively and fun, they hold on ice or hard pack just as well or better. Of course it depends on the make up of the ski but overall, they are great. I haven't ruled out buying a commercial racing ski.... yet. But I've been having good results racing on my Poly-U ski so....

IMHO I think all the plastic used in the average ski makes it too damp/dead. And on hardpack and/or icy conditions they are too soft and result in too much chatter.

An occasion to test the "white edition" of the Wolverines appeared. Just one day on an austrian glacier.
They are significant lighter(1600g) than the black ones(2000g). Totally different core. Ash, poplar and pawlonia. Only CF, quadaxial 600g/m². Felt almost too light and I was curious if the would hold up with my +100kg. No problem! It was actually very easy and fun to ski on a lightweight ski like this! Never done it before.

No photograph around in the slopes...

How many faults can you find in this picture? (Think hard and be careful with what you answer!... ;) )

...yes the bag could have more chips and drinks in it...
