September turns in Chamonix

So, did they work, and how were they? Show everyone proof that your ride was a success (or even a complete failure)!

September turns in Chamonix

Post by Idris »

It's mid September and there is change in the air, things are not looking so summery any more

The Midi ridge is always intimidating when you've been away for a while.

Tomoko is as eager as ever to take pictures

Even if I am looking a little rough around the edges

Anyway time to start skiing

Time to pay the piper and skin back up

Well my hemp reinforced skis still work fine after 2 and a half months of sitting in a dark corner - really must scrape off all the skin glue and wax them before I ski them again.

Not a bad view from the window of my temporary accommodation

Great!
I'll be down in C. in a couple of months! With new skis(hopefully)!

Wow great pics! I'm still 3 months away from carving any turns.

I've only been to Chamonix once, 6 years ago in the summer. I didn't have skis with me, so I just did a bunch of hiking up there, Aiguille du Midi is easily on my top 5 list of most beautiful places I've ever been.

Beautiful photos! I'm jealous!

great shots. Thanks for sharing. I am always impressed with the alps and I doubt the pics do justice.
