I'm with you. Snocad is great for what it is, but trying new things you quickly see it has some short comings. I am just starting to learn autocad to open up more design possibilities. I have also gotten things close to what I want in snocad, then transfered to autocad and had someone who knew it be...

From my very limited experience I would have to agree that the large radius does seem to blend better then a straight line. I still seemed to have a little kink at the transition , even with the large radius. I was going from a 5mm normal camber though. I was also using an adjustable mold that I thi...

I'm with doughboyshredder and ben_mtl. I would be into paying for some cnc plans and conversion software. I have been debating building a cnc or buying one. I also think your cnc service sounds great and may be interested if I don't get my own.

Snocad x and Vista?

I recently got a new computer with vista and can't seem to get snocad x to save open, save, import, and export files. I have been using snocad for years on an xp computer without any problems. Newest version of snocad installed. Anyone else run into this problem? Any suggestions? I posted over at gr...

Thanks for all the great info., not only in this post and on your website, but all the insightful reply's over the years at skibuilders. The new info. on the website would have made things much easier if it had been available a few years ago when I got started. Scott

Fiddled, I'm with you. I first trim the entire paper template to the ink line with an exacto knife, then cut with my bandsaw and sand to the line. I would be interested to hear if anyone is doing it different as well. All the sanding on the mold and ski templates has me eyeing an oscillating spindle...

Adjustable molds and psi ?'s

I am just getting finished making my adjustable mold (adjustable length approx. 170 to 195) and was just curious what the highest pressure people have been using there adjustable molds at. The mold is MDF, basically the same as other adjustable molds on ski builders, glued with threaded rod through ...

On the same topic. What thickness are most people using? I am going to cut some veneers this weekend and was just looking for a starting thickness to try. Any noticeable difference in ski stiffness/flex depending on the thickness of the veneer? Sorry for the slight thread hijack and thanks for any h...

Thanks for all the advice. I finally sucked it up and drove to staples. They were very helpful (when I got to talk to the right person). The printouts only cost $2 a piece so that was great. It would be great to be able to print at home, but that might have to wait. I am just hoping one of my archit...
