dore-tech was metal screen door material - and on the original prototypes, compared to the ski without any reinforcement - all built my local snowboard company it was night and day The ski without reinforcement I could rip the binding out of the ski by wrenching on a ski boot in the binding. The one...

I would put in the inserts myself - but if you are worried then consider these

Never needed any myself, but heavier friends love them.

The quick and dirty method for 3 phase on single in europe is Rewire the motor from star to delta. Wire neutral and live to two of the points and put a capacitor (sorry you will have to use google to find the value) between the remaining point and live. My grinder is wired this way - no guts startin...

Looks almost identical to an old Winterstiger I used to use - may well be a rebranded one. Motor looks 3 phase - but I could be wrong - If you don't have 3 phase you can go with a phase converter running off 220v or even a bit of trickery involving some capacitors - you end up with almost no startin...

thanks
errr.. NO

if the sidewall material disagrees with your planer the wider the tougher to plane, but shouldn't make any difference 4mm vs 4cm for adhesion

Ok that's just awesome. As a bonus you could change the tuning of the strings to change the stiffness/camber of the board! The Lego board looks pretty epic too Guitar necks have a truss rod inside to change the shape of the neck. Why not for skiis and boards? I've been braining that for a while. Th...

Maybe this will be my next project? Sounds interesting. Will any Diesel engine do? Yes any diesel will do - the more complex (new) your engine, the more sophisticated (precise) the system has to be. Cold veg oil in a common rail diesel at -5C will do a lot of expensive damage quickly. @Idris: do yo...

Anyone run an alternative fuel/energy vehicle

Anyone driving anything different to the norm? I have a VW caravelle TDI (Eurovan in NA) running a twin tank veg oil conversion (Grease car in NA) I'm going to teach myself how to make biodeisel so I don't have to buy pump diesel for starting and stopping. I'm luck here in Chamonix - quite a few res...

a bit off topic, but it kinda fits here: for the guys who do full length woodcores and use bent aluminum molds...how do you hold down your cores during lay-up? or do you prebend the cores as well? Used to prebend my tips with a hot water and a jig (davide explained this with pics somewhere) Prebent...

Sorry Ben_mtl - I am lazy Skis - Bouqetin is what I call them - like the mountain animal they are named after (you may know it as an Ibex or Stienbock) they are supposed to be powerful masters of the mountain. This pair have a recycled pine (bed and pallet in these) with Oak sidewalls, tailbone and ...
