Sarcasm is hard to type. But I love it, because it makes it seem that much more dry and tactless. How small of a box can you get those edges in in Chamonix? I'd almost be interested to try and get a few meters packed really tight. Thanks I'll try tight coiling them, but I think they don't want to c...

Re: Is anyone using thick base and edge still?
My first pair of skis had 1.7mm thick base and edge. Now I am having a hard time finding that thick of edge/base. Who knows what I am obviously not finding out? Who knows of suppliers that carry fat edges? If you still need edge I have loads of 1.8mm (step) 2.5 (total) edge. You will have to figure...

Thanks for the vid. That didn't look like much fun :) Would have been easier on a huge pair of freeride skis, but probably still not much fun, but that wasn't the point of the day. Went back up to that part of the world today for some climbing, happy to see that last storm has filled everything in ...

Lightweight touring ski - bad snow test
A summer morning testing ski mountaineering touring skis - these are very lightweight and are supposed to be transport rather than fun. The idea in yesterday mornings test was to try them when conventional wisdom says walking on crampons is better and faster. The first part I have to walk due to the...

What pressure are you running? I see many people running much higher pressure than they need. If your ski components are the right shape then you need enough pressure to firmly hold them together while the epoxy hardens? Not as some of major manufactures are doing with hard molds , lots of heat, lot...

that was a pretty good freeski tv episode. His aim is to make skiing stuff off the aguile du midi so mundane that there is no fear anymore. Good luck with that! My sidewall width is 10mm when building the core, but 7mm once the ski is cut out. Gives me some wiggle room (room for error) and gives me a plenty wide enough sidewall. Mine are oak not UHMW though. Rabbet depth I set each time I router a bunch of cores as I don't have a router dedicated to this ta...
