I do not think it is a good idea. There is a big difference in density from surface to inside of the MDF. inside it's like a sponge. I think you would have to seal the cores after profiling with something fast drying, waterbased floor lacquer for example, to avoid that the cores suck up all the epox...

In my opinion it is a little bit more complicated. The skiis don't turn like that. They turn depending on the amount of pressure/flex/sidecut/grip in the snow. Most people have a harder time putting pressure on the upper edge, specially telemarkers. A shorter radius could compensate for that. 0.5 me...

I have tried different methods for shimming and I think 1mm cardboard is the easiest to work with. It's easy to cut and has a uniform density. It compresses about 20% so if I want 4 mm of camber I buildt it out of 5 pieces. It's a bit hard to see in the picture but I couldn't find another. The MDF o...

I'm always one to see experiments. Probably work best in powder. Seems to me you'd have a very long front part of the ski to control with a very short tail. If you get in the back seat at all there won't be much to help you back up, except strong legs and abdomen. I think on a groomed carving trail...

Hmm I havnt been postcuring my skis earlier but for the latest two builds I ve done kind of a postcure outside the press. To speed up the curing process of a topp coat of epoxy I put the skis in my sauna (dry sauna) and heated it to the same temperatur that I use for pressing, around 80 C. Both pair...

Hepp veguis I have been skiing on these for the last couple of winters. http://www.tegsnas.com/ehandelskidor Belive that they are made of 100 % wood. But these are for touring, not downhill. A woodcore with veneers instead of fiberglas could work I guess. Natures own carbon fiber! try it and write a...
