Fantastic! yes, that is what I was talking about. Has anyone tried them? does it work? Stiff and soft at the same time. A snowboard or a pair of skis on half a pill of viagra.

Haha, I might! Split tail in a ski was done a long time ago by one of the big companies. I forget which company. A friend of mine had a pair. I don't know what purpose of it was back then other than to be different. The idea came and went. I didn't think of split tails. I was thinking of something l...

I am afraid that you might be right but the 4mm turning almost 6mm was an exampel. Using the formel above, "moment of inertia", the thinner the tail is the less incresment there is and it has to be calculated with the width. So if the end of the tail in the fish is 1/3 of the width of a no...

So I just wrote this in another thread, about designing the core for a fishtail on a snowboard for it to turn as a normal tail, : "I got this beam calculating formula from a friend; normal width x normal thickness in 3rd = new width (fish tail width) x new thickness in 3rd I don't know how to w...

I got this beam calculating formula from a friend; normal width x normal thickness in 3rd = new width (fish tail width) x new thickness in 3rd I don't know how to write these matamatical numbers and symbols on the computer and my math skills are very rusty, but I think it goes like this: Exampel wit...

My short answere. No. In my opinion a full rockerd ski is boring to ride. and if you plan on doing them super light weight I guess they will be soft too which means you will be able to force them into a rocker shape very easily even with a camber. I would build them with a rocker nose, maybe a small...

Snowboard fish tail question

Hepp A friend of mine wants a fish tail on a cruiser board - not pow only and I am a little afraid that it will be to soft in the "fish" part of the board if I build it as I normaly would. All you guys that have made fish boards, have you compensated by beefing up the core thickness in the...

http://www.storebaelt.dk/files/storebaelt.dk/storebaelt-oestbro-1.jpg this is the highest point in Denmark. I moved here many years ago from Sweden. I usually get 50 or so days a year on snow in other countries. Skiing is an expensive hobby when you live in a flat country without winters. but yeah ...

For touring I would put a camber on the ski. makes skinning easier. I made a pair more or less like yours, dimension wise, last year. They turned out really light weight but I soon realised that the real weight when skinning uphill is the weight of the snow that gets on top of the ski. The wider the...

I don't know about the blanket but the controller stopped at 100. Me and electricity don't mix. It is probably possible to make the blanket hotter by going around the PID but I am to afraid to try.

Hmm. with all this expensive equipement I thought I would try something new. experimental? yes. did it work? sort of. I thought my blanket went up to 250 C but it didn't. it went up to 100. slow cooking. but it was somewhat tasty and very long. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7353/9709342427_0515c2c82...

Aside from that, we push the inserts in thru a thin layer of 1-3oz glass, to prevent "binding suck".
?
please explain. Cause I have that problem. A small piece, like a square with a hole in it or a square without hole that is pushed up with the insert or what?

Thanks all I'll give it a hard try this season and lend it out to everyone. Will let you know in May how it went. and yes Richuk, that is my plan for the future. Some veneers are very hard to work with though. Like the ash I used for this board. It is very far from flat and would be really hard to p...
