I gave up on the router for sidewalls and built a tilt table for my small belt sander.
Run it at 90* for the initial cleanup then tilt the table and bevel side walls.
Way less stressful.

I'd have to agree that the epoxy hydraulic'ed (probably not a word) the edge away from the base.
Could be bad/not enough glue.
The only one who would notice is you though. If you go to the store and look at skis closely you will see way worse things!

Nice looking skis Falls!

A bit late to this party but the black belts work like a hot damn for a short while then stop cutting. They are really aggressive but dull very quickly. I've been buying belts from Skikare found they are cheaper than econaway. http://www.skikare.com/ One of their sales guys popped by my garage for a...

The edges should just pop off and you can start again.
The glue might leave a bit of a residue which can be scraped off.

I'm with the Dr on this. Bamboo is probably the most hyped "green" product for the last few years. Not only is it shipped half way around the world, but the process of making grass into lumber requires huge amounts of chemicals and energy. I would bet if the bamboo was grown in North Ameri...

Can't answer the fusion question. but... I'm not sure why this wouldn't work if your skis were center mounted. The first generation planer profilers did just that, profile one end then flip it all and do the other. CNC should make it easy. Just have to figure out set back, and whether you want a fla...

100% solids epoxy usually are 0 VOC's PU's are generally low VOC's I think you may have a hard time finding a suitable replacement. Flax eats a lot of epoxy and this adds to weight as well as more product use. Pre-cure would still need some sort of glue and would require a lot more grinding, sanding...

Thanks Dr. I just added a 25' cord on mine. It was a pain to get into the electrical box, but now I can wheel it around and still reach the outlet. I built a mobile base out of 2x4's and plywood on casters. I can move it around fairly easily and it is now about 4.5" higher which I find to be a ...

Did you ever find your leak??? Pressed a ski last week and my press frame now has a pretty good leak it didn't have before the move out to the new shop. I could hear it and tried to seal it up but ended up just going with it and pressing the skis. 5cfm vacuum pump was still reading 24inhg at the gau...

You can buy a cheap vacuum gauge at any auto parts store. Back in the day mechanics would use them to troubleshoot carburetor/engine problems etc. That's where I got mine. (Haven't had to use it on a car in years, just collecting dust in my tool box) It doesn't have to be super accurate, but will le...
