I struggled with this battle for a while. There's no free method and rightfully so I decided. You can use a few cheaper tool pathing software methods, or simply cut things that don't have sharp edges, however in the end I ended up going with the latest software from Aspire/Vectrics. Pricey? absolute...

Think smooth.

The tiny air bubbles are because the surface is to rough and they can't escape.

I use a sandblasting cabinet.

Picked it up on craigslist for $100. Blast media included. I drilled a couple holes on either side so that I could pass the edges into the cabinet and bam. Super clean edges after the anealing process.

Don't smash your skis together when you ski is the easy solution :D I've been fighting that for years. I'm hard on my skis as far as that is concerned and when I look at other peoples skis (ones i've made) it's a non issue for them. Therefore it's my riding style. I will say I prefer the durability ...

1/2" carbide endmill is what I would use IMO. Those larger flute bits don't do as nice of a job. A roughing end mill is great for slamming through your roughing cut depending how your job is setup. It works well. But I usually just use a standard 2 flute for both jobs. For the tips my guess is ...

keep a heat gun handy and use it to soften the hot glue when you are done planing. Makes things a bit easier, the glue doesn't need much to soften up

I use a 10-14 TPI Variable tooth Bi-Metal blade 1/2" wide. It will flash a set of skis in about 15 minutes on average. Much less effort then the old ridgid or a jigsaw I use 6-8 variable tooth bi-metal 1/2" wide, and I love it! very durable blade and cuts well. I'll have to give that a sh...

I agree on the tip rise. I like something 5.5-6.5 cm. any lower and I feel it would get under stuff too easily. Yea I agree. I spent the day on some salomon 108's on a decent east coast powder day (14-18") and even though they had the perfect amount of rocker the tip rise was much to shallow. ...

Thanks guys! That bandsaw is BA Falls! Highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade. My 14" ridgid just wasn't cutting it (no pun intended) anymore. Flashing is rather fast now! The tip rise isn't really that much, I just think the style of tip I use makes it appear so. The rise is only abo...

As Chris said,

Loads of info on here. Just have a search. It will also take some thinking outside the box to get your specific setup dialed in. Everyone I talk to uses a different method/style of sub press.

Did some customs last week for a customer. They grew up skiing Cochran's and wanted their logo up top with a wood pattern background. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Opwc_Wzs7x4/VH3PY2bDMwI/AAAAAAAAFFo/LyySE3xQUYs/w399-h709-no/20141128_135120.jpg And some pictures I guess because I haven't really...
