The megawatts are: 153-125-130, 188cm length
They are zero camber with an early rise tip. Fairly light for their size.

Yeah, I was wearing it. Moving booth this year. I posted a few more pictures and put descriptions to what I could remember. A few observations: -Eco friendly is gaining momentum. The snowboard manufacturers seem to be leading the way. -All companies have fat rockered/ semi-rockered skis. -There are ...

SIA (Snowsports Industry America) 2008 Report

I'm here at SIA 2008 in Las Vegas. I put some pictures here, but the connection is a bit slow so I'll have to upload more and annotate later, but just wanted to get some pics up. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wuanzinger/sets/72157603826283672/ If anyone wants more detailed pictures, let me know and I...

Gman,
I am using solidworks and also turbocad. They are both pretty easy to use and learn, but I'm only using a fraction of their functionality.

Jeez, I didn't realize Canadian customs was so much. Is USPS better than FedEx?

Wheezer, I cut out my first bases tonight with our cnc. I had the same curling problem, since I don't yet have vacuum hold downs. What I did was use turner's tape ( http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=689&filter=turners%20tape ) to hold the base down and used a 1/4" spiral downcut route...

Skibuilders CNC

Here it is, the Skibuilder's CNC. 8) I haven't said much about it since I wanted to get it running first. I cut the first bases out tonight and it works great. I still need to clean up some wiring and hook up the dust collector. It is an older shopbot PR96 cnc and the rails, motors, and controllers,...

With the 205 hardener, you only get 10-15 minutes to layup. Work fast! You can use 206 hardener to get a little more work time (25min). If you are making multiple skis, I would get the gallon resin, pt hardner and the pumps. Be sure to make small batches (about 5 pumps) otherwise the epoxy will heat...

As much as I love the Pacific Northwest, if you are looking for powder, the Rockies would be much more reliable. It might be easier to get a visa for Canada though, and Whistler/blackcomb is pretty amazing. Just don't expect 4% fluff every day.

If you can get or make a router table, it will make the template routing much easier. A piece of plywood or melamine with a hole cutout and the router mounted underneath, would be easier than trying to balance the handheld router on the thin rails.

I wonder if this is the Rossi hoopla:
http://www.evogear.com/rossignol-sas-skis.aspx

Basically, topsheets designs by different artists. Haven't snowboard companies been doing this for a while?

The veneer is so thin that it probably won't add much structural strength. I would use triax on top and bottom. Also skip the topsheet. I put topsheet on some wood veneer skis and it doesn't look as good and adds weight. The topsheet is not super clear and creates a muddy look. I squeegee some epoxy...

wow, nice work. That looks really great. Please keep us updated on your progress.

I just completed our CNC and would be interested in trying it out. We are thinking of custom cut templates, and it would be great if there was an easy and standardized way of drawing and submitting files.

If you don't want to see the core, then a layer of fabric is a good way of covering it up. We've used a bunch of different papers and have good results. Inkjet printing on rice paper will turn translucent and works best on lighter fabrics. Take a look at the upper crusts, and daddy's little girls. R...
