yes, we are in the shop in the afternoon. Well, bamboo is a little bit more expensive than regular wood, but it s a similar range as regular cores in e.g. skibaumarkt so I guess it is a fair deal.

As some have asked, the blanks are one piece, no finger joints. Feel free to aks any questions. Below are pictures of a snowboard blank. http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv200/Minga2015/IMG_4185_zpsnzlyiasj.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv200/Minga2015/detail_zps9icse1vw.jpg Cheers, Hannes

Thanks, the topsheets are a direct backprint. We didnt do it ourself. The veneer is real wood. The red one has no plastic ontop the other two have the transparent part of the topsheet ontop.

We ve changed our setup over the last few weeks and pressed some new shapes. Just tested them on the glacier, really fun soft ride. But we got some delam problems at the area of edge transition. We think it s either the backprinted graphics (direct print onto the topsheet) which didn't stick well or...

@gav wa: sure, I can and will do some tests but that was not what I was asking. As I said the guy there told me that this method is absolute standard. So I was curious if anyone has heared about it or is even doing it too because I surely never have heared of that before. @jono: I'm not sure how lon...

Bending the rocker/camber profile

Hi, we recently visited the Völkl factory. One thing that struck me was (if I got it right) that they bend the skis to the precise rocker/camber profil after the ski is finished. They said that the molds are only to get the profile roughly right. They manually bend with some big leverage and check w...

Funny, I thought the opposite. The thinner the tip and tail the more elegenat imo.
But as you guys said, the only way to find out is to give it a shot :)

Apparently, Voelkl calls it the slim-tip construction. You can kind of see in these pics. http://www.warehouse-one.de/out/pictures/master/product/2/v1516_board_alright_d1.jpg http://www.voelkl-snowboards.com/uploads/tx_voelklsnowvtechnology/v1516_board_genix_d1.jpg The Alright board has a tip to tai...

Why should one use tipfillers?

Hi everybody, I just had a look at the new Völkl Snowboards. It seems that they dont use any tipfillers. Instead, they run the core almost along the entire lenght of the board and at the very end it is just the base, fiberglass and the topsheet with nothing in between. So I was wondering, why should...

Georg at skibaumarkt.de also adviced us to use a lacquer first. It should prevent the epoxy from getting sucked up by the wood and yield a better bonding to the topsheet. I ll give an update when we have tried this. @24Dave: Thanks! For the veneer only boards we won't use any topsheet anymore but we...

Wood veneer

Hi, we had some problems with a wood veneer and clear topsheet. 1. The wood seems to suck up a lot of resin. Should one seal it first with some coat before applying the epxoy? 2. We got a lot of airbubbles under the topsheet (there are also a lot more tiny airbubbles not visible on the photo). Could...
