China direct?

Might as well just have your skis built there also.

Those must either be for kids skis or snowboards.

They aren't even thick enough for a standard size ski.

Re: durasurf sidewall question

sidewall from crown comes in lengths of like 4 ft. what do you do for the other two feet of a 190cm ski. i know it doesnt extend all the way to the tip and tail but you got to need more that 4 ft. do you connect two peices together? Ehhh, I think you have been misinformed or didn't understand the s...

55 psi is what my gauge reads on my compressor leading to the bags. Not sure how to measure the pressure to the laminate. I will definitely try more pressure as well as the technique using the serrated spatula. thanks for the ideas. I'll probably give it another go next week and post the results. F...

DBS how are you figuring the difference between bladder pressure and actual pressure on the laminate? I press at 50-60 psi at the bladder, 9 inch wide bladder with a wooden hockey stick cat track. Figure the square inches of your laminate. Figure the square inches of your bladder that is actually m...

Ive got a small compressor like that. Takes 3 min to come to 60psi. 2 bladdders. Press is preheated to 120f but drops 20f when we put the cassete in. That makes me nervous. Pre heating and slow ramp up on pressure could definitely cause problems IMO. It seems that with the preheat and slow ramp up ...

I have never had this problem, and I think it's due to a single step that I have always done. I use a serrated spatula to spread the epoxy on the top sheet before applying the top sheet to the layup. I do not use any sort of a roller. My theory is that this creates an even application of epoxy, and ...

Twizz that thing is sick! What a fun toy. I'm not sure what your long term plan is, but my guess is that it will be impressive. I'm sure the steel press is next. Is the CNC going to be for hire? Well this is still, and always will be, primarily hobby-based for me. I will never give up my day job, a...

Ehhhh, not really.

At least if you are comparing a proper weld to a bolt.

A good weld should be almost as strong as the material being welded.

Even if you only have a 1" gap for the hoses to inflate in your contact patch is going to be tiny. Like 6" maybe, if you have 3 hoses. You'll be lucky to get 50% pressure at the laminate. Therefore, if you're inflated at 80 psi, you will be lucky to get 40 psi at the laminate. 40 is ok, bu...
