Snap Clasp/Collar source for adjustable height carbon poles

Hi, Does anyone know where I can find these clasps for adjustable ski poles. I want to make my own out of carbon shafts and cork molded grips. The only sources I have found are light duty for camera tripods. Does anyone know of other sources for other pole parts as well?? Baskets, tips, etc..... And...

Of course, Piezoelectronics! Duh.

It was this sentence that really helped bring things to light for me.

"The piezoelectric effect is understood as the linear electromechanical interaction between the mechanical and the electrical state in crystalline materials with no inversion symmetry."

How did K2 turn ski vibration into electricty and light?

Hi,
Any thoughts on how K2 got the old Merlin VI's and the Fours to light up? It seems like all the materials needed to light up the skis is in the little raised box.
I should have bought a pair at the swap and peeled the box off. Anyone done this or willing to??
Thanks for your insights.

Anyone know a precured fiberglass supplier?

Hi! Anyone have a source on precured fiberglass? Like the stuff Lindsay has at SBM, but hopefully more of a wholesale price.

I know that you speak form experience, but what about crown's Galleria? They claim it is the leading sublimated base in the industry, and they make it thinner for sublimated topsheets... but maybe thinner IS the problem with it.

Has anyone else had any luck sublimating on crown's UHMW-pe topsheets and then back screening them with white? I wonder how the graphics and durability compare with nylon.

Thanks for the info and opinions. What you guys said sounds right on. Do you have experience with clear UHMW-pe topsheets? It seems like it would have similar properties to nylon, except maybe harder-more chip resistant.

PBT vs. Nylon Topsheets

Hi, does anyone have experience working with PBT topsheets and clear back printed nylon topsheets? I want to switch from pbt to nylon because I don't like the topsheet chip factor of pbt. However, pbt has very clear graphics. So, if I sublimate on the back of clear nylon (or clear uhmwpe) and white ...

Rocker height description would be a good thing to add. Rocker/reverse camber is a tough thing to describe. The tip rocker rises about 90mm and the tail about 60mm on the FUGE.
I can build about 2 pair a day or 10 a week if I am screaming.. I like to take my time and enjoy the process though.

New Skis and Company to show off... What do you think?

Hi Ski Builders, I have been lurking in this forum for several years now. Without skibuilders.com my dreams of building skis and owning a ski company would not be possible. I have been building skis for a couple seasons now, and have decided to actually start selling them. I am currently working on ...

As far as I know if you get the right type of ink it will work. And something about corona treatment? Does anyone know for sure? Also, does anyone know of a smaller scale printer that will print the right inks on the back of topsheets?[/quote]

You are right about a drag knife leaving a cleaner cut. I cut adhesive vinyl with a drag knife to make diecut stickers and it works great. I have not found any dragknives that are large enough to cut through BM though, or a way to hold down the base flat and steady enough even if I had a sweet huge ...
