ok this might not be the best place to be asking this. That aside: some thoughts on this pump? http://www.veneersupplies.com/products/ ... 0-VAC.html

I know 3 cfm is a bit low, but for that price it is hard to pass up.

Where to get vacuum bagging flim?

Been using this product right here for my vacuum bagging, http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=4236&familyName=Vacuum+Bagging+Film But there is a downside to it. It only comes in 2 yard or 20. I have been getting the 2 yard which isn't long enough for my mold and I...

Wood sidewall preference

I'm looking in to making a ski with woodside walls, from what I gathered Ipe is a good go to but hard on tools, also found people use Maple. My question is what wood do you guys find works best as a sidewall.

The trail size I have is 3lbs, and you are saying you use 600-800ml. I upped it to 1200ml just because why not, and that turns out to be roughly 2.6lbs. So I might be safe. As for the bit I was looking around my shop last night and found some other bits, one being a 1/2. I'm going to make a run with...

Kind of got that vibe when I opened the box and saw the amount that came in it. Going to be re-order another batch of the trail size.

Question for all you pu experts, I just bought the trail size of smooth on 790. Just wondering if it is enough to fill the void for a ski that is 180 in length, 120 tip 90 mid foot and 115 tail? Going to be using a 3/4 size router bit down to a depth about 18mm. Will I need more than the trail size...

To big tip and tailer spacer?

I'm designing a pair of skis right now and the tip and tail spacers are rather large, tip 12" tail 8.5". Now is that to big for a space? Dumb thing to ask but only way to find the answer is to ask.

Get a big sturdy old cooking pot (I use an old pressure cooker with a 20mm thick polycarbonate lid). Cheap and easy to get. Something like this? http://i58.tinypic.com/k16ulh.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Shop-Fox-W1799-Gallon-Paint/dp/B005W1CE4W/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1405195239&sr=1-...

If you have any means to degas the resins before pouring, do it. First degas part A and B separately and then degas again after mixing (mind your pot life though). Been thinking about this, not to sure if this would work. Using PVC http://i62.tinypic.com/1z68pjo.jpg Sealing off the bottom and makin...

I plan on making very soft skis so 780 should be fine. That is why I was thinking about using it as the sidewall and the tip spacer to soften the tips up some more. But if it is a bad idea it is time to move on.

So it is about time for me to make my sidewalls. Before it happens I just want to run my plan out with you guys to see if I'm on the right page or not. Going to be using Smooth on pmc 780. Step one: Cores / core template Step two: Attaching template to the cores with double sided tape/hot glue. Step...
