Idris skis, and the inspiration for having a dragon in the logo came from the dragon character in a locally made cartoon where I grew up - also being the name of one of Wales highest mountains.

My cores are always way longer than the finished ski when I am planing them. I just cut the excess off afterwards. If you feel the need to cut your cores to length before planing then feed some scrap material through with the ends of the core, parallel to it but sticking out more fore and aft - the ...

July skiing on the Midi and skin to Helbronner for coffee.

We have been having October in July, I suppose to go with the July we had in March and April. The other day it snowed down to 1800m, but it didn't clear, yesterday it did. Heading out the door, ,hoping the clouds are dropping not rising. http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/254126_10150263...

Idris Skis new workshop

It's not huge but it's a world bigger than my last place http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6149/5946240118_d41bcfb3fc_b.jpg As you can see from outside, ventilation will not be a problem this time, just open the door - yes m...

It went well, learned a lot, and my French improved a fair bit 90% of inquiries in French. Lots of people interested but nothing solid. Could have been much busier if the Tourist office had organised themselves better. The whole Eco Expo/Development durable thing was split into 4 parts, but no signp...

Falls, true the old school stuff was nasty to fall on.

I raced (slalom) on that stuff for years as a kid - every other weekend in Summer!

But the new stuff gives you nasty carpet burns - can melt your clothing into you!

Worst snow season since records began in Chamonix - or so they say

Everywhere closed early - last year we could almost ski out to the road at this time of year - now you would end up walking to get back to mid mountain on the north facing slopes :(
