heat controller wiring for sub press

Hey guys. I have a sublimation press in the works. Just about got this bad boy done. I'm hoping I can get some advice from the guys that know electricity. The posts from Brazen and Nightmare were absolutely key. Thanks guys. I am having some electrical issues. The heat blanket is a bit more powerful...

I think the transition is a real weak point. I've seen a ton of boards start to crack where the tip fill meets the sidewall. In my opinion the ends of the effective edge take the most abuse so why put the transition there. I started slanting my sidewall at the ends and meeting it with tip fill rathe...

Laminate some prepreg carbon between the wood core strips and plane that beast down Goode style.

I've used some hemp canvas. First as a reinforcement to replace carbon fiber.

Thinking I might go topsheet similar to what ride does. I layed up a sample and it wets out to almost clear.

Could be a couple things. We ripped 1x4s into strips with a tablesaw for a while. Some, but not all bowed after a few days. I thought it might have been because the cuts weren't totally straight. Now all my strips go through a CNC shaper and use a large clamp press. They come out totally flawless. T...

You are on the right track JSquare. Especially in the tip and tail the hose is trying to straighten out. This project is tough because the tips have a tight radius. To fit a cat track, hose, cassette, and layup i there ends up being a lot. When a radius gets tight the cat especially likes to bind up...

I'd say it depends on the rest of your design. There is no support for your form block along the gap. It is possible you'll get light pressure there if your forms sit right above the gap or it might break your form block. An easy fix would be to lay up some 3/4" mdf below your form and you shou...

Good info guys. I'm agreeing with the pressure issues and going to try a few more ideas. Brazen good call on the tip spacers. Thinking I'm going to cut out some extra base material for this. Still weird that huntsman holds on. I'd rather have entropy work because huntsman 557/994 smells like cat pis...

I've since done some upgrades and tweaks to try and get this to lay up a bit better. A lot of effort has gone into even pressure and good contact in the tips. When the cassette gets pressed my temp goes down to 65c and is back up to 82 inside of a minute or 2. I've pressed anywhere from 30 to 80 psi...

I am in the process of making another batch and found another way to reduce the amount of bubbles. I've had luck hand mixing the material in the past, but I wasn't convinced that I was getting a complete mix. I attached a sponge brush to my drill and gave it a good mix. Not such a hot idea. It intro...

I was getting this with some prototype boards this year. When I press these I do it without a topsheet and start with no added reinforcement. I was getting the same result. With no topsheet I then added in some carbon after the fact and took it out for another test. Adding carbon was more to stiffen...

Right on, Extra fire hose and paint sticks made some good filler to close the radius. To add, having protective tape over the topsheet gives a nice pressure indicator. To add to pressure testing we have a rider that comes down to the shop that is a phd and does composite failure testing. He gave me ...

I would think they just buy a roll and get it cut to their spec with a cnc.
edit: Here i thought you were talking about tip fill. I leave the skiing to you guys.
