but be careful with plywood. if the several plys/sheets of the plywood are too thick it won`t work. at least that`s what i`ve experience on my skateboards. there is a border at maybe 2mm thickness of a sheet. if the single sheets of the plywood are thicker than 2mm it`s more likely the plywood will ...

I hear your call, Mmadman! plywood? i checked his site too but somehow i missed the part about plywood... so what`s the question? you`re right, i switched to vertical lamination but did...3 pairs with horizontal lamination. but i did use veneer instead of plywood. hard to say if plywood keeps the ca...

this...THING?! looks freaking steep!
the terrain in chamonix seems to be pretty crazy, regarding all your pictures. is there any skiing to be had without the need of rappeling cliffs or the chance to fall to death?

anyway, a full picture of the beauties on your feets would be nice! ;)

about the grafics etc: i tried several things. in general if you use a wooden topsheet it can happen that the veneer soakes up epoxy during layup/pressing/curing. this happend on all of these 3 pairs. at the end there are "dry" areas on the topsheet and there are areas that got soaked thro...

bamboo fibreglass sounds interesting. but the tissue they offer there may not be that ideal for skibuilding as the fibres go in all directions...i guess therefore it could lack of longitudinal stiffness. jep, the attila have basalt on top and i just finished a second pair with basalt. the basalt i`v...

btw, do you know which type of basalt fiber (type of roving e.g. biax, triax, ud,... and what weight) to use best? it`s pretty easy: use the one you get! no, seriously, there aren`t many types of tissues. some 500g and some 200g tissues. unidirectional is hard to get, at least i didn`t found any by...

there`s a video of indigo building a board.... somewhere. they only use thin stripes of bamboo in their core, mixed with thicker stripes of other wood (maybe poplar). at least it was like this in the video i saw about 1 year ago. maybe 2-3mm thick bamboo, 15mm thick other wood, 2-3mm bamboo etc.

jep, that`s what i did. now stoeckli leaves away the "inner core milled to shape" and mills the "outer cores" to shape. their cores stop right where the sidewalls end, so they don`t have any wood in tip and tail as on your picture. there would be a STRAIGHT!!!! cut (no V-shape or...

miserable failure

here`s the thing. i got abs sidewalls from a friend and thought "hey, let`s try this out! i`ve never been a fan of plastic due to bonding, but it can`t be this bad, right?!" and so i did...just to find my initial hate of plastic confirmed ;) after 2 days of glueing cores and sidewalls the ...
