Re: Major base repair

You dded your edges too. What happened? Did you fall asleep leaning on the grinder? ;)

Ah i see, sanding planer. Good idea, but you need to grind wet otherwise the material is overheating

Re: m5 inserts for split clips

But you still need a 17 or 19mm drill (dont remember). On the US inserts its just a small hole (9 or 11mm!?). Would need to measure, just out of my memory

Re: m5 inserts for split clips

No, head / flange too big and nothing to prevent twisting. Draw your hook spacing on a piece of paper and then add the flange circles. You will understand ;)

Maybe the js piece works, but it would not be my first choice ;)

Re: m5 inserts for split clips

They are open on both sides so not good. You could close the lower side (where the flange is) but then you loose a bit of adhesion to the base side layers. Re: m5 inserts for split clips

The ones from skibaumarkt are too big. You need to drill huge holes which are ok vor bindings but in the thin tip/tail area its imho just too big (also because of the narrow spacing needed for clips). Outside dimensions are the same like the M6 inserts

Re: core hardwood inserts

With inserts i dont see a pullout problem in soft wood. But insert sink may be possible. I think you will be fine when you put one more patch of fibreglas between inserts and core. I would not try to fiddle some patches of hardwood in.

Re: Festool HEPA Cleanup

Change your thinking. You produce too much waste for a shop vac. Except you want to empty it all the time. Get a cyclone dust extractor. On this you can connect a standard shop vac, a hepa one or even better some big vac (can be only the motor) staying outside of your room. On my system i fill a 100...
