Hi,

the ink is epoxy based and cured with UV light. I dont know more.

No heat is used. It might be that this is the issues, might be that without heat the epoxy ink does not stick properly to the top sheet....not sure what to do.

Hi, I am using TPU/PMA top-sheet material. It is printed from inside. Solid colors, large areas. The paint can be almost peeled off easy. I did a test and epoxy matrix binds to the paint but the paint does not stick to the top-sheet and the topsheet comes off... I am not sure if the material needs t...

I have identical vacuum setup, woks very well. I use beech/poplar wood core at the moment and a router of 1600W does it easily in 2-3 runs. I imagine with bamboo it might go easier, have experience that bamboo is more easy to machine then beech, and also beech dust is not good for health, so I plan ...

HI Charlie,

where are you in Europe?

I might be able to help you with some things, not sure, send me a pm.

Have you tried topsheet on your products before? Are you using heat? If not using heat it might take a while before a good bound to topsheet is made.

Cheers

I vacuum it. I took a MDF slightly larger then the ski. Drill a hole thru in the midle, or several palces, and here you connect the vacuum cleaner/pump. If vacuum cleaner, make sure there is a hole somewhere so it does not get overloaded. Then rout channels on the top of the mdf under the ski area. ...

I have some basalt and I know that it is quite similar in all parameters to glass fabric, apart from that it is 100% green.

Have not tried any carbon/basalt

PS: reg. the kiteboard, the carbon one is much stiffer then the glass one, just so you dont expect same results, however it was the idea in my case to increase the stiffness.

I did build pure carbon kiteboards, which get quite similar to ski in layup, materials etc. I have been using 22oz glass, and for the same core profile I have used 15oz triaxial CF (no glass) with excellent results. I think you can even go lower down, dont go higher, or make the core bit (up to 10% ...
