I have made only one ski so far. 138mm at the waist and 2.5 mm tip continual grade to about 10.5 and the 3mm in the tail. I put in a long thing diamond shape of extra glass running from about 60cm from the tip to the tail I am really impressed with the burliness/stiffness of the ski. Solid poplar co...

I don't see your logic. Its more about set time than it is strength and weakness. I figure you think it will be weaker so you want to leave more epoxy in the ski and not sqeeze it out? In a heated press temp and pressure is ramped to achieve the best balance. ( I think) I would test your epoxy and o...

Apparently you did not understand. I welded the edges on a wood template not attached to the base. I then transferred my welded edge setup to my base cold. Worked great. I used a low voltage mig welder. I have be welding for years, its pretty easy to do a couple quick tacks. Oh and knights, it was n...

Hey, I'm reinventing myself here. I was Wannabebuilder. But I built a ski. It's just like a 138 similar to your pics.. I work in a shop that makes items from 1000 Denier Cordura nylon. I think it would be great as a press frame. Cordura is super strong. We have tons of remnant. Like 2 and 3 yard sec...
