know a composite engineer?

any engineers out there? I am working on my engineering degree hoping to get a degree in Composites Engineering. The current problem is that my school requires that we interview someone in our desired major. Anyone have a composites or plastics engineering degree that would be willing to let me inte...

first off, thanks for the fast help!! my controller says that its supply voltage is 100 to 240...yet it says that its relay signal is 3A, 250V...the only DC output that it has is the "Voltage control" which is 20mA at 12V DC...but i am assuming that is the wrong output for SSRs. I do not w...

yes, i can see that HDPE will be safer...polyethelene has the ability to be cold formed which makes it much more shatter proof. but as far as the seal goes, even if they seal one side, you are going to have to be able to open and close the other side (in order to insert and remove your vacuum layup)...

I vac bag my mold inside a 36" wide nylon tube-bag. With this setup I have run plenty of wires out of the bag (for thermocouples on the mold) by squeezing the wire between two strips of mastic tape on a sealed end. mastic has plenty of give and can easily seal around wires...i regularly get 28 ...

So if I have a controller that sends out an AC relay signal...i should find an SSR that has an AC input and output? is there a benefit to having a DC signal over an AC signal? I recently purchased the Omron E5CJ and an SSR with DC input, AC output. the problem is that when i went to wire everything,...

I have been playing with the autoclave idea for YEARS...ultimately a steel box is my goal...but its too expensive for now. I was never able to find PVC large enough...my mold is 12" wide, so I need an inside diameter of at least 14", preferably 16. The best thing i have found is discharge ...

Homemade prepregs?

As the subject may have lead you to believe, i have been toying with the idea of making my own prepregs...is this feasable? Anyone have any experience doing this? I am hoping its as simple as resining a bunch of sheets of glass or carbon, then sandwiching them between release film and sticking them ...

Edge HELP

We just finished gluing another set of edges on another base with the same failed results, the base deforms itself severely under the force of the edges. We preform the edges with a propane torch and a CNCed template. We also cut out the base using a CNCed template. Despite all this, this is our sec...
