Yup, Cartels. Guy at the shop had them in the basement for a couple years so I got a great deal.

relicts from the 90s https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/919133_719087664781541_1692401408_o.jpg Happy now? More importantly I took the board out for some real action today. It rode awesome. It's designed as a directional free ride board. Held an edge perfectly no matter how fast...

Ha, yeah my gear is pretty old. I got that stuff back in '99 when I took a year off school to be a bum in Aspen. Good times. I haven't decided on boots yet but I'm waiting for Catek to get another shipment of Brotherhoods in. Also contemplating a pair of Union Contact Pros. As I get my building dial...

I'm willing to bet it's dry under the top sheet. when I put it on I just smeared it into the top layer of glass instead of adding more epoxy I don't seem to have this problem with the other layers. Pressing at 55psi. Testing on Saturday. Pretty stoked about it. https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...

Got number 2 just about cleaned up. Going in for the grind on Thursday. This one turned out much better but still having a couple issues. The delamming around the top sheet when I cut off the flash for one. I did sand and flame everything but I'm willing to accept user error. You can also see that r...

Took it for a ride on Saturday. Was really floppy but I expected that. I used a router bridge and found the core being sucked into the bit. I suppose I would need to figure some clamping system to keep the middle down. Going to try the planer crib on the next one since I made one of those as well. I...

Also on your tail (the bottom of the full length photo) I see two horizontal lines on the tip spacer that look like maybe they had concentrated pressure there. I see you're using a cattrack, are those marks from some of the cattrack bars? Do you have any kind of material between the cattrack and th...

According to the rep it will cure at room temp but isn't optimal. She was unable to be more specific on what "not optimal" means.

Yeah, I'm going to let it sit for a while and see if that takes out some of the brittleness. If it gets better ill try a repair. Though I'm not in much hurry to do so as I already started the next one. And I'll probably have that one pressed first. But yeah I think leaving it alone for a while befor...

Using Forrest Paint. 218S000 with 212K001 hardener. Those are indeed delams. The base also delammed from the core so going down the hill would be like riding a ram scoop. I had to take it off the press early because my shop lost heat and I tried to "save" it by getting what I could into th...

1st board finally out of the press! And let me tell you it is a total POS. Not really a surprise but I at least hoped to ride it. Not happening. Didn't even bother to clean it up other than running it through the band saw. I screwed up the epoxy by mixing it by volume instead of weight. Oops. It's s...

so wait... some of you guys are skiing on unfinished wood sidewalls without any issues? i did all bamboo sidewalls for my first run and was thinking that I absolutely NEEDED to seal them, ending in me applying epoxy to each set with a paintbrush, which to be honest ended up looking like shit. I'm s...
