ok, that was just guesswork...i got the numbers of the single board kit (1kg) sold at snowboardmaterials. we havent pressed any boards yet, so i'll update those figures by the end of next week. but 330g sounds good...that'd cut the costs in half! (we'll be just using one layer of 21oz glass plus the...

same thing with the sicomin...but a single hotplate and some water in our shop take care of it (also eliminates all the bubbles!).

take a look at my last post in our journal: http://www.skibuilders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2044

i'll do an in depth description as soon as i find the time to do so...one thing i can tell you already is: they work! :) tested them on a ski and they heated the press to 180F in no time.

i don't think the pressure would be a problem, but still the wattage is far too little.
we're using a pretty similar approach, but the heating elements we use are made for industrial applications, so they have enough power.

like he said he had it plotted. that means it was either printed by a large laser or inkjet printer. most copy shops have one of these to print large photos and most of them also offer an option to print with uv-resistant inks if you want to be on the safe side. still, using your printer at work sho...

thank you twizzstyle! will try the hotglue.

edit: just a thought, wouldnt it be good to put glue all around the edges? it could prevent epoxy from getting on the base.

@hugo: the 100°C was just a figure...thats what we can go max. will be pressing between 70-80°C.
doesn't the tape leave imprints on the base?

securing base material to the mold in a heated press?

sry if this question has already been asked, but i couldn't find an answer via the search function.

how do i prevent the base material from shifting in the aluminum casette in a heated press?
i guess hotglue or double sided tape wouldn't work too well at 100°C.
