Last night I had a dream

That I was building again! Re-location of the press fell through, and now the frame is sitting in my driveway after dragging it out of the garage with my truck. Now I am planning on moving so I don't want to go through the work to put the press back in the garage and get everything set back u...

Change of plans on the honeycomb... I'm too worried about bonding issues. Instead I ordered some of the foam cores from BlankSlate, and I'll give those a shot. I'll save the honeycomb for another day. In the meantime, I've got the normal bamboo cores profiled and ready to go (profiled on the CNC wi...

I found my core data. 156-----6.75 161-----7.00 166-----7.25 This provides for a decently stiff board using 17oz triax and CF reinforcement. Looks like my memory was off a little. Of course, you can go with a slightly thinner core, with stiffer reinforcements, or a narrower board. All of the boards ...

DBS, I will probably go with a 6.5 underfoot. Crap, I just remembered I ordered 7mm inserts! So how would this be then: -Poplar core with maple stringers(at edges and at insets) profiled to 7mm underfoot and 6.5mm in center. 19oz glass -a few tows of 12k CF(full board length) -wood veneer topsheet....

I get none.

I expected more, but I get none.

Heat top and bottom. About 80 psi. Symmetric material layup.

I've got a list around here somewhere.

I'll try to find it.

9 is stiff as a board.

On a 155 I think 6.25-6.5 is about right if you're using 22 oz glass, prolly even on the stiff side.

Splitboard is an entirely different flex profile.
On the splits I built I increased my core thickness by 1.00

I paid $4900.00 for a CNC from Mike 2 years ago and have yet to take delivery or get a full refund. If you think I am kidding I will send you the pay pal receipt. He would not answer my phone calls and changed his email. So be careful guys. Here is my Paypal invoice. 1 BearMac 30/80 Profiler w Vac ...

Where at in Seattle? I'm guessing south seattle somewhere? I work at Boeing Field. Good luck, this will be awesome. I'm trying to experiment with honeycomb right now (granted I'm still 100% hobbyist, with no plans to ever move up) - and I'm struggling coming up with a way to have a sufficient bond....

Beautiful!

Especially the vacuum setup. Need to try that, as I haven't had much success with planer crib, or my router setup. I especially love the adjust-ability of that with the threaded rods. Hmmmmmm, mind spinning.

It's just tape to help keep epoxy from getting under the base. Probably a super thin double stick tape. Not a bad idea.

Somebody set me straight here... Wouldn't the two hoses equal out to the same pressure? If the top one is a higher pressure it's going to press down until the bottom hose is at the same pressure? I guess maybe the contact area is the difference. The forces have to be identical. Yeah, I think you're...

Saw what?

That makes no sense. How are you distributing your pressure evenly?

Re: How about this

I thought about this idea for a while but never had the chance to try until past weekend. How about use firehose above the top mold as a filler also it should work to create adjustable opening for cassette. Basically my idea if top firehose inflated to higher pressure in comparison to main firehose...
