Just use a softer, like 5053 .063 aluminum. Seriously. Coat the aluminum with mold release,counter sink your screws along the outer 2 ribs, route a channel in the form under the aluminum sheet for your heat blankets and be done with it. BGF has a seconds price list, 10/12 oz triaxial weave (faultless) runs about 18 a meter. Ask your glass rep (North American Composites or Composites One) to call them for it.

Here's a pro tip...NEVER do a dye cut with black base, especially if you're using a high carbon, etc. When you base grind the lighter color streaks. Always. And yea, again. 12 dollar drill blank. Exact. Same. Thing. As beautiful as that dragon looks (and it does) when you base grind that shit there ...

That was so well said it had to be said twice! Actually though, a dragknife is a no-brainer...12 bucks for a .125 drill blank at McMaster Carr and a diamond wheel...hello.
