Interesting, I'd never even considered that. I'd be interested to see how back to back tests perform.

My hunch is you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but it can't hurt to do it the way you guys have been.

Concrete is strong in compression, but very weak in shear and tension. Unless you have perfect compression in your press (i.e. very flat surface, very flat base of mould and even pressure distribution) you will most likely crack the concrete pretty quick. It's also heavy, so moving it would be diffi...

It could be worth putting the titanal immediately adjacent to the wood, rather than with a layer of glass between. I'm not sure whether it will bond perfectly, but the wood would act as a damping/gasket medium and having the titanal closer to the centre of flex would limit the compression/expansion ...

They built a board around 2006/7 too, that they claimed helped dampen the ski. A uni student doing engineering in the UK worked with K2 to verify it in the lab (google "Dr Snowboard"), and it was proven that not only did it not dampen vibrations, it actually exacerbated them.

I'm using sicomin SR8100 and 8822 hardener. Low viscosity, super long pot life (hours). Easy to mix, wets out easily, I've used in the middle of winter at night in temps close to 0C and didn't need to heat it up. Hugely strong when bonded. Expensive though I think, I got it from uni for free but the...

So this might be B.S but Ive heard that epoxy cured at room temp. 75 F will cure to a better bond as long as its left to fully cure, like a week! Don't want to single you out here, but you heard BS. Epoxy cures via an exothermic reaction, i.e. the chemical reaction creates heat to assist the cure. ...

Looking for help in the US

Hi all,

I'm considering ordering an Epson 4880 printer, and customers in the US can get a $500 rebate. I was wondering if any of you would help me out here and forward the rebate on to me, I'm in Australia and can't claim.

We can work out a cost for your time.

Thanks for the tip, shot them off an email. I'm much the same, I spent a lot on building a heated press properly last year with the idea of starting a company. The idea went on the backburner for a while there but I've been getting so much interest from other snowboarders and stores that it's coming...

Wow that stuff looks really good. Looks like I've got another project.

Brazen you're using an Epson 4880? The graphics look outstanding, but $2500 for a printer is expensive! Are you making boards to sell, or just a hobby?

Could you show a closeup pic or two of how the plate is attached?

Are the "adjusters" just solid steel bars with a threaded hole for the bolts, and do the bolt heads simply rest on the base of the press or are they threaded in?
