Hey looking good! i hope this pair works out well! interesting layup too especially with the alluminium. I used allu with our mark 1 SL and found that over time (usage time) the ski progressivly lost camber, it got to the point where it was achieving negative camber. however we used ALOT more allu t...

Elan race ski top sheets, what are they?

Does any one know what the material is? and more importantly where would someone like me be able to get some in north america? i think aesthetically a top sheet that has some sort of glossy texture would m...

Hey. Whats your current lay up? I recently did a 1m test just to see the difference between carbon and glass. the glass test i used 3 layers ontop of the core and found that the extra layers did not make it that much stiffer. So adding a extra layer of glass should be ok in your case. if you would l...

measuring pressure

Such as a mat or something that you can put in the press that will load digital information up showing which parts of the mat (press) had more pressure. random Q i know. ...

Nice research. Interesting too. I purchased some composites and more core material today to use simply as tests. I got: 50x100cm of Kevlar 1m2 of 2x2 twill wave carbon fibre 1m2 of bidirectional 6oz fibreglass While i was at the store, the people agreed with my initial thoughts and research. Which i...

Great video. Like really, it shows all the major steps really well. I would like to say congradulations. In terms of improvements, i think everyone that has watched the video just wants to see more. they cant get enough of it. For basic coverage it is great. no complaints at all. in other words you ...

Thanks kelvin. Well for the aluuminium both the bottom 3mm layer and the topsheet, we roughed it up with course sand paper, and as consistantly as possible we ran the drill along it (side ways) just to rough it up even more. We also did this to the core. however not as much with the drill. When we t...

Hey thanks for the help. well we should be using just plain woven carbon. We can get the twill woven stuff but we have to order that in. so for now just the plain checker board type. The reason for putting the carbon on top is as follows (well we think its a reason) 1. carbon is good in compression ...

Hi there. It has come to that time of year again here in Australia, the time to build more skis. Last year with the help of you guys we finished one design, tested it, made 'mark2' and was very happy with it. So i have come up with a new design. very different from our last one and i was after the m...
