1.7mm thick base. Want to buy.

I am looking around for some thick base material preferably in neon green. If anyone has any or can point me in the direction of someone who does I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Those of you who have done wood sidewalls before. Did you have to rough up the core/ sidewall material pretty good to get a good bond between them. I just sanded down the side of the core to get the kinks out, but I don't want it to try and glue together smooth. I thought of a rasp to both inside ar...

First pair finally blew up.

After 6 days of hard skiing, I found my failing point. I used to sections of sidewall on both sides, so it had white going 1/3 of the ski and green going 2/3. I went off a cliff and caught a rock and rolled, blowing just the sidewall off the ski, it was waving in the wind behind me as I skied the re...

Who all is doing die cut bases by hand? I am going to do one in my next pair of skis, wondering if anyone has some good DIY tips. The xacto knife I have sucks and needs new blades. So I actually just freehanded the cut with a utility knife. I am cutting a lot of rounded corners and tight curves, so ...

Wanted: 1.7mm step edge

I need some thick edge. The 2.2mm or 1.7mm step edge to use with the rest of my thick base material. I talked to CPM or whatever-the-@#% it is called. I just need enough for one pair of skis. If you have 4 meters, I'd love to buy it from you.

So if I made my core end right where the tip starts to curl and filled that with wood, profiled down to the thickness of tip fill, it won't be to stung to bend to the corner? That sounds awesome to me.

Sarcasm is hard to type. But I love it, because it makes it seem that much more dry and tactless.

How small of a box can you get those edges in in Chamonix? I'd almost be interested to try and get a few meters packed really tight. Thanks

What if you cut the tip shape out of a plank of wood, rather than bending a small piece around the tip. I am pretty sure I'll have to just settle for real tip fill.

CDW told me they could only do big orders of the 1.7mm. So if anyone is buying 1 million pounds of thick edge, I'll buy a few meters off you!

Wood 'tip fill'

I just ordered a big board of (White boy name) Tigerwood for sidewall material. Did some research, seems to be naturally waterproof like Ipe and all those others. But, has anyone tried to make a piece to wrap around the core for 'tip fill'? It seems like it would de-laminate very easily, but I reall...

So back to the original topic. My first pair of skis turned out concave on the base. That was with p-tex sidewall (UMHDWWHP I always forget the order of letters) and aspen core. Maybe I just didn't press hard enough. Unheated, 60psi, pretty lousy job with the layup. Profiling 2nd pair of skis, I cut...

This may sound dumb Montucky, what is CDW's website?

Are most base manufacturers making thick base material as well?

Sorry if these questions are dumb, I am finding nothing.

Is anyone using thick base and edge still?

My first pair of skis had 1.7mm thick base and edge. Now I am having a hard time finding that thick of edge/base. Who knows what I am obviously not finding out? Who knows of suppliers that carry fat edges?
