hugocacola, I’m not quit sure how to take this. ;) Are you referring to the ski in this thread? It was an attempt at resin swirls like they do on surf boards. I think it failed due to not having a substrate like foam for the resin to soak into. It looked good on the clear base but changed a lot when...

dbtahoe, that looks pretty cool. Not too bad on price either. ~ $1 a sheet from. http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/418463-AA.shtml?lnav=transfers.html If it leaves the fabric soft without a build up on the suface it should work well. Nice find!! I may have to try that. Silk is kind of nice ot wo...

A couple more doods are born
Here are a couple of pics of my latest Doods. http://home.comcast.net/~mhafte/images/newdoods.JPG Same shape just a bit of difference on the inside. The green ones have a bit softer flex in the tails. I hope they are as fun to ski as the first pair. I have one more pair of the Doods to do and then I...

Nope, no particle board for me. I was just following the Big Lebowski theme. Here are a couple of pictures of the nihilists… well one anyway. I may see how they hold up to a Elan test. You can’t see the ripples in the base but you sure can feel them. I’lll have to find brighter colors for the resin ...

I have been back to work for a few weeks now and have made some progress on this project. Unfortunately not in a good direction. I decided to press one ski at a time since they were so wide. I didn’t want to have the parts interfere with each other on the form. There were a few wrinkles in the base ...

This sounds like fun. I wouldn't have enough leave to do it this year, but would like to participate in the future. Tahoe would be awesome. I lived in Reno for a few years and my dad patrolled at Mt. Rose. I would LOVE to go ski there and at all of the other resorts again. Great idea guys. Keep it g...

Here’s another one. Don’t hook the compressor your heaters and vacuum unit to the same circuit without checking on it every so often. I blew a breaker last night some time after 2:00 am. (the last time I checked things out). Good part is the skis were in the bag for 4.5-5 hours before I went to bed....

What to see some really pretty skis? http://www.az-ski.com/ One of the links fom the above site. Cool contruction. Looks like a torsion box wood core with wood side walls, and a nice shiney finish. And they better ski by them selves for the cost. You ready for this... a reported $12,000!!!!! I'd fit...
