I don't get it.
You screw the tipsavers in during layup? The edge between core and tipsaver is straight? Or is it rounded or triangular? Don't you get any coreshifting? Up until now the core is not secured and only guided by te tipsavers so it still can ove sideways.

E-Glass is the standard stuff I am using. You should be fine with it.

Why don´t you use lighter Carbon but for the whole width? Above the edges as well?

So far I used P-Tex 5920 and 2329. After having a warped base from the 5920 I wanted to look for a datasheet at the CPS-homepage. That way I found out that they produce teir bases just near my roadbike-traininglap. So I just called them and asked what I did wrong. They just invited me to come and se...

After using 750 triax Glass for the last 5 Pairs I am now thinking about trying 300g Carbon biax and 400g Glass uni. On one hand I want to save weight with the Carbon and get a torsionaly more ridgid ski. On the other I want to keep the "glassy" flex of my former layup. What do you think? ...

You can use uv-protected topcoat or SuperSap. I used SuperSap for both, layup and topcoat.

If I build a ski with veneer on top I just use perforated release film. Just short sanding and then I use linseed oil. If I am building a ski without topsheet I use both. I use the release film to tear of the fleece, then I cut the Ski out out and get the bases grinded. After this is finished I Rip ...

I was already considering this. But I am afraid that I get something like "rails" into the base because of the volume of the carbon.

I am using Super Sap and the skis are curing just a bit above roomtemperature. Do the problems with convex/concave base occur under these circumstances?

Layup questions

After spending some time now with the simulator of junksupply.com I am wondering how changes in the layup affect the ski. 1. I made a ski with 750g triax glass. It is a bit on the soft side. But I think 1150g glass might be too stiff. So I want to try an asymetrical layup with 750g and 1150g. Will t...
