I see the 2 red wires that are crimped together and connected to the left buss bar. I assume that one each of those wires goes to one each of the heaters and provides a 120 volt leg to the heaters. There's a red wire that comes out of the lower left of the photo. Where does it come from and here doe...

Yikes. Things certainly did get hot. It's still pretty difficult to see what you have going on. It looks like there are a number of wires going to your ground bar that shouldn't be going there. I'm sure much of it is just the way the pic makes things look, and the wires may actually be going under t...

The PID's themselves (unless they're damaged) can't draw enough current to melt the insulation on a wire, so you almost must have a short circuit close by. We need pictures of your entire system... lot's of pictures. Be sure to get one of the connections to the back of the PID's. At what point 'down...

Okay, the new information is helpful. Sounds like you're trying to pull 20 amps through a 12 amp fuse. Because the different 120 volt legs of the of the 240 circuit are out of phase with one another, I believe (not totally sure) that they both still pull the full amperage load during their positive ...

My earlier post was during a quick lunch break this afternoon, and after looking at this thread again, I realized that I wasn't being as attentive to some possibly important details as I could have been. I had not considered that you might be using 220/240 volts (thanks doughboy for pointing that ou...

Okay, for starters, we need some more detailed information... Your diagram shows that you are using two different wires that come off your 'breaker switch'. Is the 'breaker switch' that you describe in your diagram your 'circuit breaker' in your electrical panel, or is it your 'power switch' on your...

ben_mtl, Yes, you were very clear. Just as an update on what I have posted in prior threads regarding binding mount position, I have been fortunate enough this past spring and early summer to be able to do a ton of further testing in that regard. Consistent spring corn provides for a great testing g...

Man, that's commitment. It must be pretty labor intensive to cut and assemble all those pieces. But, you know what... if I were shopping for a snowboard and saw that Nidecker was using scrap like this, it would sure get me leaning in their direction... not that I think it looks that great, but more ...

Hey sleepycp, I feel the same way and have been giving quite a lot of thought to the waste material issue myself. I have been planning on contacting Crown Plastics to see if I can return my scrap Durasurf pieces to them. It seems like they should be recycling their own scraps and waste into new prod...

Well, I'm much smarter now
I'm just basically confused... right smack dab in the middle of my comfort zone.

Thanks sammer and Kam for the additional info. I was too tired last night to follow the links.

Hmmm... that article does look familiar. Sure is a boat-load of information. I saved it as a bookmark for future reference. I did read the section regarding static electricity (way down towards the bottom of the page [section F], for anyone interesting in finding it). My stationary ducting is ABS, r...

Kam, Interesting point regarding grounding the plastic hose. I've noticed that sometimes when I vacuum with a shop vac, sawdust/debris particles start to build up on the hose in little 'projectile/static like' formations . When I go to wipe them off, I feel these little mini-shocks on my hand/finger...

a machine we will be offering in our product line this year. Hi odin, I already have a cnc router, but I was wondering what other items you carry in your product line that I, or other forum members, might be interested in. Thanks, G-man Edit: Just did a search and pulled up some earlier posts of yo...

makes my hair ( the few I have left) stand on end when i walk under it Ha! Same with me... to the few I have left. I'll try your grounding idea if I continue to have problems after I reconnect the limit switches... and maybe I'll just do it to stop my hair standing on end when I walk under the hose...
