Yeah, I peeled back the protective film on one of the corners a bit before pressing just to make sure I could easily tell up from down.... Flame treating wouldn't have been an option as I'm pretty sure it would have screwed up the graphics (printed on the underside). I haven't cut/trimmed the skis o...

Thanks Vinman and Chrismp. Good tips for the future. For this pair though, I wanted to overlay a graphic on to the veneer, which was the main reason for using the clear topsheet (with the graphic printed on the underside). Seemed like a better way to do that and also avoid the extra time/work of mul...

ICP 8210 Bonding Issues
Has anyone else worked with Isosport's ICP 8210 clear topsheet material and had bonding issues? I'm using it for the first time on a pair to put graphics on top of a veneer topsheet (and protect the veneer). I just pulled the skis out of the press (vacuum bag) and though I haven't trimmed them out y...

Green Sidewall Material
I'm working on skis where green sidewalls would look great with the graphics, but I'm not having any luck finding green material. Crown listed some on their remnant site, but when I called it turned out that it was all gone....Any suggestions as to where else I could look? Or, does anyone have a lit...

Edges are coming off with the base, and, no, I didn't pre-bend the tips. I wondered about that, but didn't have a problem with the two pair before....Seems like a stretch, but they were left in a car on a couple hot days, could the edges have expanded in the heat such that the two ends at the joins ...

Delamination
After getting my last pair of skis back from having the bases stone-ground, I discovered that the base is delaminating in two places on each ski. All four spots are where the two edge pieces join. I wrapped the edges around the tips and tails, and the join is about halfway into the tip/tail. I didn'...

FWIW, I've been doing something more like the second method. I run the camber arc to the ends of the running length and start the tip arc at the end of the camber arc with a horizontal tangent. I then draw a spline starting 2 cm before the end of the camber arc, going through the end of the camber/s...

Just laminated....given the limited time I can devote to making skis, I'm trying to streamline the process wherever possible. I tried snowboardmaterials.com which, at first, seemed to have the added benefit of offering core blanks for less than I could buy the raw materials for! After shipping, thou...

Epoxy Sidewalls
The skis I've made so far have had wood sidewalls which I've coated with epoxy as a final step. For my next pair, though, I'd like to try epoxy sidewalls (around the whole skis as they'll have wood core tips and tails) using the moat method described in the "howto" section. But, I'm a litt...
