I usually profile an entire plank of uhmw on the cnc then rip it for sidewalls, this works fine unless the shop is so cold the plastic won't lay flat on the table :)

Hey Knights,

Omega has a cn7833 for around 100 bucks...I thought these were a great deal for what they are and, so far so good.

I'm using the CNC for profiling and, as yet, haven't had a problem with the ptex. Yet. As to the flame treating before layup...ALWAYS )

So, when I released pressure and moved the cassette, the inserts at the tail lifted out...one of them didn't go back in the right place and got smashed into the core, moving it off center AND the insert smashed through the base material. Tah dah! That's why I said that )

Never release the pressure in your press after 10 minutes to "reposition" your cassette. Really. Not ever.

Falls, we use 14" wide tape , it's commonly just called application tape. It comes in white or clear. Just google it, there's tons. Hope this helps. BTW, that's an awesome control system...I just stick in the hose from the compressor on mine. Sheesh.

How are you adhering the edges to your base material? I do full wrap edges and tack them with superglue...they always seem to hold really well. Just askin'.

Weird. I mek everything before I flame treat the ptex just prior to layup. I have to ask though...how do you fix an edge? Do you inject epoxy and re-press? I've never done it and it seems like something I'd love to know if you're willing to share. :) BTW, where in west mass? peebuddy? lol
