I wouldn't sweat the small stuff. Writing a journal means you are giving to the forum and inspiring others.

I'm interested in why you guys don't remove epoxy. Epoxy is brittle and will yellow over time. Belt sanders over 'random' orbital sanders? Has anyone tested the urethane used to protect bowling lanes - might be a good starting point?

Thanks Egil - welcome to the forum! You've made some interesting points, not sure I agree with the conclusion. A sympathetic composite supplier will send you a sample if you can make your case - a 120oC cure isn't required, we have more time on our hands. If the pre-preg does require a higher temp i...

Huck, I've not used pre-cured, but this would be my approach for the following reasons. I'm assuming it is quad-axial. Layup: Base/Edges Wood veneer - cut to fit within the edge set Bi-ax Pre-cured fiber Core As you appreciate, this approach maximises the potential of the precured fibre. It is no lo...

Hey man, congrats on your first build. I looked at your pictures and had a few thoughts. Your tipspacer design could be used to secure the core in position by maintaining two tipspacers as one piece and leaving a few tabs in place. The tabs could then be used to orientate the tipspacer within the ca...

Balkan, I'm not clear how much 'flow' you are getting, but if it is hitting the floor, then that's too much ... Do you have a defined resin ratio? Calculate this and you will then be able to quantify whether this is natural loss or not. http://www.netcomposites.com/calculators/volume-weight-fraction...

Snocad to Draftsight and the waist moved on me ... I found the issue once the template had been cut. It happened a while back, when Snocad was in question and Draftsight was relatively new.
