These 254 mm wide you get quite cheap 350€ or less..

So as I thought there are some waves in veneer..for the second ski I use much less epoxy in veneer and put a layer on gf on top to soak epoxy while laminating the other parts. With the first pair the result was perfect. 😊

New ski on vacuum..I think I put too much epoxy under veneer. Hope I could remove it.

New oil free vacuum pump is good, don't warm much even running already 6 hours.

Thanks, I made a wooden tip spacer using veneer. I thought it might be more flexible than plastic and also much lighter. Lets see how long it last.

EDIT: I think that I will make new wood cores that are longer. Cost for new wood is not much compare to all other part if the skies brokes due this.

I have this machine:

Would be quite easy to adapt a digital measurement system. Maybe I will do it.

Second ski pair on way.. I was little stupid and made the wood core quite short. If I put 2 mm tip spacer her will the ski broke? This is tip part. I will have 760 g/m2 GF on both side of wood core and 0.6 mm veneer on top. PS. Plastic sheet 2 mm between mould / ski is missing. http://abload.de/img/...

I plane a pair of ski cores to final dimensions. As novice, it takes time to remove the last 0.2 mm from the second core to make the cores equal. I have only manual height adjustment and the scale is 1 mm.

More stupid questions. I have use Cap construction. Is it really so that it gives lower torsion compare to sandwich? For me a box takes more torsion than two layers.. I have Atomic skies with cap and fisher skies with sandwich..all are race skies atomic are with highest torsion. The first pair seems...

I put also epoxy on top of veneer but it I need to try something else next time, epoxy is not hard enough. I have heard that le toking oil will make hard surface. I will try it to m...
