Yeah, looks pretty bad. You should have come to Snowbird instead. This was filmed under the tram last week.

Yeah, super sad thing to hear. My friend's roommate was just involved in an avalanche fatality too. Sad thing to have happen. This years snowpack is just not something we want to toy with. What a crappy year.

Twizz beat me to it but I was writing this up at the same time. I think its probably a mixed bag. Some probably add thickness to the core, some add some width, others may find they’d rather add more glass or carbon. As Twizz said, one of the most important factors of ski stiffness (or any beam for t...

I think that typically the thought is that longer skis are targeted toward larger riders. Therefore they may change the core profile or other tweaks to change to flex of the ski to make this accommodation. Usually the sidecut radius changes as well.

The smaller the gap the better. There is no amount of inflation where you get "maximum force", it's all pressure. If the hose can only expand 1/2", it's still got the same pressure inside, so the resultant force will be the same (I'm leaving out contact area of course). Twizz - Truth...

I love this thread. I just want to clarify to people something I've been thinking about recently while reading the forum. A lot of time pressure is thrown around as a measure of comparing one person's press to another. Some press at 80psi ,some at 45psi, and others at 14psi. It is hard to compare wi...

That's a shame. It seems like all my music posters and Pink Floyd The Wall flag got the boot too. The garage may be just the place.

Only 4-6 pairs? I was thinking these could be reused more often than that. Is this common for most people? My thought was that covering them with mold release would keep them epoxy free. Is it mainly that they just get bent up during de-molding?

White Pine, thanks, press dimensions are 12" by 14" by 90", just enough room to hopefully be able to press two skis at a time. I didn't want to go too wide since I want it as strong as possible laterally to keep my bases and mold flat. Are you saying you were concerned with the cross...

I'll just throw out some of my experience working with polycarbonate (PC). For my job we had an application where we had to bond several different types of materials to the PC. We tried several types of plastics and foils. Not much would work well to get a durable bond. We tried UV curable adhesives...
