actually some big manufacturer's boards have wooden sidewalls...my völkl squad prime 2008 is an example. the sidewalls are some kind of horizontally laminated wood veneer. i think it's bamboo. it didn't come with any instructions on how to treat the sidewalls, so i guess it's not necessary. so maybe...

cheapest way to build a pneumatic press imho is using cordura like we did.

does the job nicely and the raw materials for the press frame arent really expensive since its all particle board, some formlining boards and a couple of screws.
if you have questions you can pm me in german ;)

already been discussed. we came to the conclusion that the slings would cut into the press frame at higher pressures, plus it would make it harder to get even pressure.
still, if i remember right someone on here has tried it already.

@idris: the heaters are working great...last time we pressed it was about 0°C in our shop and we got the press up to 80°C in about 15 minutes. @knightsofnii: thanks man. we settled on using a full length woodcore with approx. 2cm wide tipspacers made of polyurethane d44. the polyurethane works great...

don't know any suppliers in sweden, but you could ask the guys from sicomin http://www.sicomin.com/ if they have a distributor in sweden.
the system you're looking for is their SR8500 epoxy and SZ8525 hardener (we're loving it! cures within 30-10minutes at 70-100°C).

are you doing 3/4 edge wraps?
something like 1/2 wrap really. I just take the edges a few inches past the contact points.

I highly prefer not having edge wrapped around the tip/tail.
reasons?
any experiences on how well this method holds up to park abuse?
