From your photos I'd say that your skis are abut 100mm wide. I would say that a 12mm plywood core with 750g/m² triax on both sides is rather soft. So when flexing the skis you'll easily reach the Point where the top Skin starts buckling. A couple of weeks ago I made a pretty similar sample to test v...

How did you Flex them?
What core material and thickness?
What Areal weight of fibers did you use?

I'm pretty sure that a ski which you can break by Flex testing is probably too weak to be skied anyway.

I didn't connent the ribs and the sheet metal. The sheet is just lying on top of the ribs. Haven't had any problems so far. Maybe I could glue them together to get my bases even flatter. The tightest radius I've done so far was about 350mm. I wouldn't go much lower because it would mean permanent de...

Maybe you saw my adjustable mold: http://skibuilders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4821 It's a zinc coated steel sheet. Not sure if it's 0.5mm or 0.8mm. You can adjust rocker/camber every 150mm. It measures 2,15m in length and there is about 50cm space between the screws. Below the sheet metal there ar...

Hey All! I had some leftovers from the girlie pow board. So I decided to build one for myself. I had a spare core with about 1560mm. As I'm 193cm tall I'd usually go for a much longer board. So I decided to build a board similar to the hovercraft by jones snowboards. A friend cnc'd the templates for...

It's green base material. I could use the cnc cutter at my university to cut my bases. As the table isn't long enough I had to cut multiple parts anyway.

from the cd screenshot you can see that there is a two step nose lift in the front starting 500mm in front of the waist point. it's 3mm corecell. i used a cap construction in tip and tail so that the corecell is not exposed to humidity. The sidewalls consist of epoxy mixed with graphite powder and c...

And as the board has some pink paint and glitter on it my girlfriend will be happy as well. the pink stripes and my logo are painted using water based acrylic paint. directly painted on the base. after pressing I sealed the top with epoxy before using...

Core and base are ready. board is not going to be pressed till the next weekend. I'll probably use a hybrid camber/rocker as bottom

thanks alot gav wa!

I'll be using 750g/m² triax glass. no carbon.
full perimeter pu sidewall -> no tip spacer
I'm still not so sure about a flat under the bindings or full rocker. board will be used on the slopes as well to reach the deep stuff. so i might use the flat bottom.

OK!
I'll go for a full rocker bottom. Shape s gonna stay the same.
core profile will be 2mm - 7mm - 2mm.
should i start increasing thickness right from the nose and tail or should i have flat parts there?
