Site Updates -- Big THANKS to Head Monkey!!
Hi Everyone, As you can see, the entire site has been updated. The service provider recently upgrade their PHP and factoring in that the old platform was outdated, it all created a little bit of a mess, but we needed to update things anyway. Some words: spec out your beams carefully and do the calcs for the cage or whatever you are surrounding your beams with. The cage will carry the load, and the load will be transferred to the bolts, etc., so if you don't connect things properly, bad things can happen. I've sheared a handful of bolts ...

@ MontuckyMadman -- yes, yes, I know I know...that CNC is nice and precise. I tune it like I tune my bike every few weeks and wax the o-rings on the sealed bearings. I wish I had more time in the day to dig thoroughly through this form..... Anyway, I haven't found a good way to line things up other ...

@Richuk -- yes, I know Ski Trab, but which ski are you talking about, because when I last checked the skis in the 700-800 gram range were not that wide, about 96 mm at the shovel and 64 mm at the waist? http://skitrab.com/en-us/c-5-ultra-light/1-race-areo-world-cup.html Here's something that's compa...

An ultralight (K skis by the Ski Lab)
I'd like to share some new work. This past spring while ski touring with some good friends in the high Sierras, the idea of building a light ski came up. You see, some of my friends will not ski on my skis simply because they are not light enough. Whatever. But being an avid backcountry skier myself...

Kublai ski press with new lowering top mold assembly
Hi Everybody! First, happy Thanksgiving holiday! I made a modification to my ski press (named Kublai) that I'd like to share. You might find it useful. I did not do an exhaustive search through this forum to see if anybody else has done this exact design, so I apologize if this is a repeat. Anyway, ...
