Re: what happened? snowcad kanundrum
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with it. snoCAD-X is not maintained at this time, and hasn't been updated since it's last release in 2015. I know of no plans to improve it, but it is open source so if anyone is interested in working on it they could. I pulled the zip down from GitHub just no...

Re: MonkeyCam Error
This works for me when I run it right now. There may have been a transient outage in one of the backend services. Try it again and if it still happens update your GitHub issue and we'll go from there.

Re: Where do people find metal for presses
Where are you located?
I always got mine from a local metal supplier, in my case in South Seattle. https://www.alaskancopper.com/ You want to find someplace similar in your area. Don't try to get this stuff online.
Good luck!

Re: Do edges add to surface area of base?
Yep, the overall dimensions include your edges, so you need to make your base template 2mm smaller all the way around.

I was able to see this and tried the workaround successfully. I have updated the main README.md on the repo, and the current release notes, with the workaround identified by @skibumben. Thank you!!

New user registration issues, July-Dec 2021
Unfortunately we had a problem with the new user registration system from about July thru Dec 7th, 2021. I'm sorry we didn't detect it sooner. If you tried to register for an account and couldn't activate it, please go ahead and register again . All previous inactivate accounts have been purged, and...

Re: Sno CAD x on Mac
right click on each .jar file and click open. it should ask you whether you trust the file as it is from an unknown source. after that it was smooth sailing. This is good to know. I have access to the GitHub repo. I will try your steps on my Mac, and update the readme file there on the next few days.

Re: Leaks in fire hoses in pneumatic press
Small leaks in the hoses are normal. What you should do is put a regulator between your air compressor and your hoses. Your air compressor should have a tank attached to it, and should normally be at a much higher PSI. The air compressor should also keep it's tank at a minimum PSI much higher than y...

Re: Shaper Tool cnc vs. Maker Made cnc
Mike, since you made the tip mold/template, have you any idea/feeling how long it will take to route a full ski template? A ski that's 170 - 180cm. I've read articles that praise the tool, but one issue or obstacle is the time moving it your self. It's been a while since I used one, but I believe t...

Re: Shaper Tool cnc vs. Maker Made cnc
I used a Shaper Origin once in 2018 and I posted about it for ski and snowboard building here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/snowboardbuilders/permalink/737037053158838 That group is public, so the post is visible without a FB account. Go check out the FB post for pics and videos, but I'll go ahea...

Re: First Board!
Nicely done!
On mixing epoxy: mix as much as you want at the beginning, then divide it into multiple cups. You'll end up with the epoxy you need during layup without having to go back and keep mixing more. Standard red plastic party cups work great for this.
