A tip for those chip bins - you'll get better separation if you put the input laterally near the top, say 75% of the way up, and offset from the centre, so as to generate a vortex. keep the output in the centre at the top. And empty it frequently - don't let it fill past about a third.

100mm underfoot is fine for an allmountain ski. I think that's the new normal, really?

Plywood's a better option than mdf for moulds. much more dimensionally stable and robust but the downside is it's more expensive.

Painting or varnishing MDF will make a big difference in how much moisture it soaks up.

I've seen some of those belts on large cnc machines tufty, was very impressed. Excellent choice for very long runs.

I'd be keen for a roll (150m right?) of 1" stuff, or if people were ordering wider stuff, an equiv amount of that.

Cheers Rich. We've been using a belt sander with a tilting belt and a level plattern til now. It's been ok but you can't get that really even bevel that I want. I'll have a look into the bobbin sander etc. I like the idea of a pre layup bevel. We CNC the core so it shouldn't be too much of a mission...

I improvised a spray booth by hanging a plastic packing wrap from a machine skid and hoisting it up with the gantry crane.
