I bought my scotchbrite belt at www.svst.com. Its 320 and makes the base buttery smooth. I also have a 420g wax buffing belt from Fintech abrasives. I was thinking the seam as well. My 80g and a few of the 120g that came with the machine do not leave marks. All my new ones do. I knocked the grit dow...

Base grinder finish Issues

I thought maybe the bearing were going bad on the roller but it some belts work great. Any ideas? IS it a speed/pres...

Hot Box Idea for wax absorption
Anyone see a reason not to use one of my heat blankets as the heating element for a wax hot box? Insulate the box, put blanket on the bottom, set to 140 degrees for two hours, boom! Thoughts?

Vectorply 19oz triax Roll purchase
I am purchasing a full roll of this and will have it slit but I'm not quite sure how to divide it up yet. I need two 14" rolls and the rest is up for grabs. For the ski builders, what size slit width works. If I do 14,14,13,9, would the 9" be usable or would you rather have enough width ge...

Base grinding methods?
I just acquired a grindrite st600 with autofeed and I am looking for advice on feed speeds vs. Belt grit vs pressure. Would anyone mind sharing their methods or can you point me to some links? Thanks!

Thanks guys! Burnside, here is a pic of the nose profile. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah38/Darrick_Rasmussen/IMG_1829_zps776brr4m.jpg It barely rises in front of the inserts so when you step on the camber between the feetit causes the nose to lift. I also like a lower nose height to promote ...

24Dave, thanks! I should have mentioned that I have a heated Ibeam press now so my stiffness is now being adjusted by core profile and CF stringers. Super happy now. I am using Entropy CPM and curing at 180 degrees for 40 minutes top and bottom blankets. Yes, resin is colored with opaque pigment. I ...

New shapes
Been busy making and testing variations of the same shape. These have been riding extremely well. This is called the Tree Weasel. I am super addicted to board building and fortunately now, I have been making them for other people which has started to fund the habit. Cheers! http://i1376.photobucket....
