On most hydrographic applications there is a clear coat sprayed over it. With that being said why couldn't you put a flex agent in the clear like you do when painting a flexible bumper for a car?

Do a search on ebay for hydrographic film and look at all the different patterns you can get. Price for the film ranges $25-$50 per roll. Tons of info on the internet about it.

hydrogrphics

This is something you can do at home and it's easy and cheap. I did it to a couple of guns of mine.

No, run two SSR's and heat sinks be sure to use the paste heat transfer stuff between the SSR and heatsink. Your SSR's are the weak link in any controller system.

33 ohms is more like it! 7.2 amps, 1745watts, that's a great mat.

I changed my mats to 10oz due to what stated above about feeling the wires through the mat. 328 ohms isn't correct, if those are 240VAC mats you should be around 26-36 ohms, and 10-13 ohms for 120VAC.

That SSR is too small, even if you use a heat sink. I would run at least a 25amp. Your PID will output a switched 12VDC. You can run one PID with two SSR's, one for each mat. I would run two PID's and two SSR's.

8 parallel circuits, with 4 lengths of wire each circuit. i was going to pick it up from jacobs online (cat. number NW28500). 500ft for $17, seems pretty good. thanks for checking over the numbers. From experience 8 parallel circuits seems problematic, that is a lot of connections that could fail. ...

Where are you getting the wire? It is cheaper to buy two pounds of wire than one pound, the respool fees are kinda expensive. But yes your figures seems right to me. How many parallel circuits are you going to have?
