Chris- My planer did a really nice job with the core and sidewalls getting the base flat. I used a straight router bit for the profiling you see in the picture. The results you see are mediocre compared to another board I experimented with. I made an error machining the Aspen core that I posted pics...

I am going to need a few more pieces to make it the desired length for the press. I also retested my homemade ...

After that is all cut out, wrap the core with veneer top and bottom to keep epoxy out. A core with hollow spots, more or less. Make sense? One of my cust...

Maybe try a core cutout in the tips like Kastle does on their skiis, then the honeycomb throughout the rest of the ski. Just a thought...

The majority of Alpine boards are made in small mom and pop shops and are custom made. Try going down to your local ski shop to buy a new alpine board. Its a small percentage in ski/snowboard industry, and the riders take much pride in their ride.

Yes I have two templates made. One is the core size, the other is the final board size. I am just going to use the final board size template for the base material and attempt a full wrap edge. I routed the channel in two passes. The core is a one piece Aspen core. Really smooth routing. Came out rea...
