Re: veneer topsheet with painted graphics

I'm sure you've figured out your paint setup by now, bit I paint over veneer, and directly on carbon fiber. I use colored primer paints. I typically cover with urethane vs a top sheet, however I've been thinking about trying to use top sheets over the primer. I'd love to see your results if you can ...

Re: Edges and Fiberglass

I'd be in for the edges if you're willing to ship.

Thanks Sammer and Desmond. I'm thinking you guys are right. No drain. The building overall is going to be 2 stories, 2,000 sf. Downstairs is the garage and ski shop. Upstairs will eventually be for storage, office, bathroom and a hang out space. My house is small so this space will give some much ne...

Updated Shop

I'm working on building a new garage with an attached ski shop. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15641305/Ski%20Press%20Pics/HTech-Foundation.jpg Question for those with ski tuners: What are your thoughts on having a floor drain under the ski tuner? I was planning on it but am wondering if it's m...

I'm heading to Alpy tomorrow morning before work. It should be awesome this week. Weekends I usually go to Crystal as it handles the crowds better.

Boeing won't miss you before noon tomorrow will they?

I somehow fell off the response notification from this thread and missed the gathering. I figured it didn't come together.

If there's talk about getting together every 6 months would folks be interested in getting together in January?

Anyone interested in this meet up still? We should just set a date and location.

What?! Crap!!! I still have some blonde and carbonized veneer, probably enough to do one pair of each, but that's it :( They still carry flooring though I assume? (that's my core wood). They've still totally got the flooring. Although I need to return my last two boxes I bought. They gave me the fi...

Thanks all. I was going with the assumption that the vinegar is fairly volatile, and once it evaporates there shouldn't be much acid residue left behind. We'll see. If I get a total delam situation I hope it comes clean from the cores so I can put them on the wall. I should have known, but I really ...

Thanks Twiz. I had been hesitant to pull the trigger on the clear vinyl topsheet from Miller over the bamboo, but your totem skis from last year convinced me. I still think it's hard to beat the look of hand painted graphics over the bamboo, but it is definitely much easier to do the printed topshee...

So far this winter I've put out two pairs of skis is all. One for a photographer friend and one for me. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15641305/Ski%20Press%20Pics/WP_20141116_012.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15641305/Ski%20Press%20Pics/WP_20141116_014.jpg These are all carbon fiber a...

I haven't updated on here for a while. The repair of the carbon skis went well and the skis look fine after they were tuned. Here are a few others that I made last winter... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15641305/Ski%20Press%20Pics/WP_20140128_004.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/156413...

Thanks gozaimaas. That makes sense and should work. I've got some thinner wire coming as well that should resolve my curling issue.
