You could pull a vacuum on the mixed epoxy to degas it.

You could diy a pressure pot pretty easily and it will pull all of the bubbles out.

Mix it mechanically all you want, throw it into the vacuum and then you'll have some bubble free resin. (Keeping in mind pot life of course)

They're called countertop bolts. They come in different styles. Here's on type; http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/FSC-2600/Zipbolt I think if you used these and keyed the two halves like a puzzle it would be solid. Another idea is to biscuit joint the halves and send them with a biscuit so that the us...

Look at scrapbooking supplies, they have die cutters that would probably work.

Why not have your set-up in vacuum bag and throw that into a press - using both the benefits of vacuum and a press?

You can build whatever you want for your own puposes, you just can't sell it. Once you start to sell something for commercial purposes that's when you start to get into trouble.

Profiled Cores

A freind is giving me a surface planer and he said it pobably needs new knives. There's a couple of nicks that will cause raised lines on the finished piece. Then I started thinking, what if you made two large raised portions on the top of the core? How would that effect flex? This could be done wit...

Very cool. My warm weather sport is slalom waterskiing. I wish we had the big powder to try something like that out here.

These days we're lucky to have even man-made snow in the North East.

If the powder acts like water, I wonder how skis modeled after waterskis would work. Waterskis have a narrow tip, wide waist, concave bottom (tunnel) and narrow squared off tail.

If I ever skiied on powder (I'm in the NE) or if I was even set up to press skis, I'd try something like this.
