cat track
My new press is finished. The only thing left is to make the cat track. My old one I used 1x1 steel 1/16 wall. This one I plan on using 3/4x3/4 al. I have a great deal(free) on some 1/16 wall. Is anyone using a wall thickness this small with aluminum tubing? I'm concerned it may not hold up. Any sug...

I've been using Paulowia in the place of Balsa in Surfboard building. It has a really high strength to weight ratio and now is farmed in the states(South Carolina) so the cost is way better. Plus it can be bought in raw form and you're able to pick tighter grains from different parts. We use them in...

Agree with the whole thing bond. It works well with surfboards. But here again the top sheet is my concern. The bond to glass is forever. I do know for a fact that most rice paper doen't laminate and vellum will never laminate over the long run. I have some info on some suppliers for paper that work...

Yeah snoCAD files (DXF) can be used. Most CNC machines operate with a CAD/CAM system(SURFCAM, MASTERCAM, etc..) A DXF (geometry) file is downloaded to one of these programs and cut pathes are formed. snoCAD is what it says it is, a CAD program(computer aided drafting). It then has to be sent to a CA...

New at this snowboard/ ski thing. But I have had no problem with laminations. I've lamnated surfboards for 28 years both Poly and epoxy. With ALL delam problems I have ever had have been from unclean surfaces, aceton, finger prints, dust even. Anything that is between that lamination will cause majo...

Graphics??
Just started pressing a few snowboards/skis. I'm was wondering if anyone has applied graphics using laminates???? I'm in the surfboard industry and we put logos and some graphics on boards(both Poly and Epoxy) with art on a fiberous rice paper. It is laminated under the glass or can be applied betwe...
