Thanks for clearing that up for me. I've done a lot of reading and seen tests with dry (scraped) skis as opposed to waxed skis, after all of the testing it's very clear to me that the way we're surfacing skis and boards now is inadequate. Scraping is actually superior in my opinion, and certainly mo...

Are you talking about using a scraper instead of stone grinding and waxing?

What is your plan with the heat blanket? On the top and heat down through the metal or affixed to the underside of the top metal sheet? Careful not to get burnt when loading! from the top of the middle plate, silicone blanket, aluminum sheet, heat blanket, aluminum sheet, graphic, topsheet, aluminu...

Well...it works(as in applies even pressure)! I haven't affixed the silicone pads or brought it to temp yet but thought I'd share my moment of glee anyway, I'm running around the shop like the pacecar for the apocalypse. Cheers! :-) http://s1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc472/brashsnow/?action=view&am...

Silicone blanket is here, bladders are finished, PID is wired, heater is tested...waiting for the aluminum to come back from water jetting. Having a couple of beers and countin' the peanuts on the poopdeck, trying as best I can to be patient. I think that's the hardest part of all. Endre, thanks for...

I'd be interested in hearing more about this. What are you using for your heating elements? Any idea what kind of pressure you'll need? a single 14x84" heating blanket from MEI , press pressure at approximately 20-40psi, temp range 300-350f, time TBD. As always, I've designed this press in wha...

I thought about using a drag knife on my CNC, the base material is too heavy IMO for a knife. I ended up just using a 1/8th endmill...works perfect.

HELP?!? Haha, dye sublimation press...

Does anyone here have pics of one? I have a dye sub printer and CNC cut a flat deck so I could use my laminating press as a dye sub press. It's not a great setup (read SUCKS) so I'm going to build a standalone. Any one have pics or plans...it would be so awesome not to re-invent something that's bee...

I'm using these valves...so far, not a problem at all. I've brought the press up to 120psi just to make sure, grinned the whole time )
