Edges - CDW vs Metalldeutsch (SWD - Friedrich Deutsch)

Hi, Does anyone have a comparison between those tho edge manufacturers? I have been using Metalldeutsch and it was ok, but I have the feeling that edges were rusting easily - on a ready made ski (not during the storage on shelf). I use standard CK60 edge, because for that the MOQ is low. I know that...

Faction skis - also madein Poland (Nobile factory). I don't get one thing - he says that ski is made from balsa but they added some fiber to reinforce ski. He shows a blank core so the reinforcment is in the process of making core itself. I wonder what that is...Anyone? I also spoke year ago with on...

must be expensive for sure!:)
I want to make an upper edge for protection of veneer, and it must be stainless so stain doesn't get to/on veneer.

stainless steel edges

Hi!

I'm looking for the stainless steel edges to buy. Does anyone uses them and would like to sell me some?
I know I can order them in the factory, but the min. quantities are way to high for me and I would like to do some testings first.

Did anyone here uses them?
I'm in Europe.

Best!

no way it will crack - I've made some tests with 1,5mm maple - it bends a lot, with no problem!
but anyway - good to know that most of you use the thin stuff - it would make it much easier as it's more choice in that thickness.

Wonderfull work! I've seen some of your skis last winter in shops in Italy
(Alta Badia I guess) - they are really beatifull!

I was wondering what thickness of veneer do you use 0,6mm, 1,5mm or different?
At the shops I found they have only few veneers 1,5mm and those 0,6mm are really thin...

Thanks Richuk and Jellyfish! - pull back of the depth of the rebate, you'll get a clean finish on the base what do you mean by that? what's the rebate? - exclude wood with knots, the bond is weak and or results in an over concentration of epoxy I'm taking only spruce with knots - as it's not "i...

What do you mean by cold cure? I use heated press and I cure in 65 C - it is the temperature that is recommended by the manufacturer. But the idea that dry core soaks some epoxy sounds resonable for me; however I don't know about the hairspray... About that I haven't wet the glass enough - last time...
